Case's Big Toe

Sunday evening, we came home from our hike and bathed the kids.  Justin was getting dinner ready and I was getting the kids out of the tub.  The kids were all gathered at the table snacking before dinner when we heard a loud "BAM" followed by our baby boy's crying.  We look down in his direction and he had knocked down the table chair.  We originally thought he would have a little bruise on his toe, but then we saw the blood.  As a parent, it looks like it was gushing:(  I rush him to the bathtub and rinse it a little.  And that's when I notice the extremity of his toe.  It was bleeding a lot, and it looked like it was hanging on by a thread from the knuckle up.  No toe nail, lots of blood, and a toe just barely there.  Justin grabbed a towel and said to apply lots of pressure.  We load the kids back in the car and head to the ER!  Justin watched the kids in the van while I tended to Case inside.  (For 3 hours)  Case, on the otherhand, dealt with the pain really well.  He cried at home, but was soothed in the car on the way to the ER.  My boy ended up getting about 11 stitches and a fractured toe.  We thank God he has his toe still and praise Him for His continued protection over our family.

Case was happy to be home.  His brother and sister even got him to laugh a little.  He clung to that toy in his hand during the entire ordeal.  He wouldn't let it go:)
 The bandage!

3 days later and looking much better
